~ A Story Idea is Born ~
Grades Pre-K through 2
Bobbie leads the children in a lively, thought-provoking discussion, beginning with the realization that a book starts with an idea. She then reads several of her award-winning books. During the readings, Bobbie encourages the students to explore the books from a new perspective, paying attention to the illustrations and discussing the way pictures enhance the meaning of the words.
Children love to see the tiny little fairy belongings in the treasure chest she always brings with her.
Following the stories, students love to sing along with the songs on the accompanying CDs. At the conclusion, the students are encouraged to express new ideas for their very own stories.
Groups of up to 40 children are preferred. Length of each presentation is 50 to 60 minutes.
